Samsung had launched a few phones in the On series in 2016. One of the mid range phones in this series is the Galaxy On8, which is a phone with a 5.5-inch display having the Full HD resolution, i.e. 1920 x 1080 pixels. With the model number SM-J710FZDGINS or SM-J710FN/DF, the Galaxy On8 was released in September 2016.
It was a Super AMOLED display with the excellent display quality offered on the phone, and the Galaxy On8 was internally powered by the Exynos 7580 Octa processor (1.6GHz octa-core) along with 3GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. It also has a MicroSD card slot with the support for the expansion of up to 256GB. The phone also has good cameras with a 13MP rear and a 5MP front camera, and even the front-facing camera has a flash support.
When launched, the Samsung Galaxy On8 was running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with the TouchWiz UI, the regular one that is seen on most of the Samsung smartphones. Now, the question whether this phone will get the Android Nougat update is very important. Many users have bought this phone and they are surely waiting for the update on his phone after spending Rs. 15000 on it.
We genuinely hope that the Samsung developers don’t ditch it and gives an update to the Galaxy On8 with the latest Android Nougat OS and the regular security patches, which are a bit missing on the phone. It is only the flagship series from Samsung that has got the regular love of OTA updates and the other mid-range phones even some in the A-series are not getting regular updates. Taking that into consideration, thinking about getting the Nougat update to Galaxy On8 is a bit optimistic.
The Android Nougat update if released will have some very important features that are a part of the actual Google Android Nougat OS and then, there will be a lot offered by Samsung on the TouchWiz side.
