Micromax had not had a good year in 2016 when so many of their phones failed to offer a good competitive performance and the flagship phones from the company, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro were well bought by the fans of the company but then, Micromax decided not to do much in that segment and thus, no next phones came in.

Both the flagship phones from the company, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro had a 5.5-inch Full HD display and they had a good 3000 mAh battery. While it was a little slower chip powering the Canvas 6, the Pro had a 2.0GHz MediaTek processor powering the phone along with 4GB of RAM, compared to the 3GB RAM on the Canvas 6.

Micromax Canvas 6 and 6 Pro

The OS version, you’d say. It was Android Lollipop 5.1 version that was running on both the phones. Not much was different from the stock UI but Around was one service that we knew Micromax introduced first here with a lot of promises. Then, something happened in the market that the demand went down for Micromax phones and the things the company worked on, changed. The software side is not promising anytime from Micromax. There are rarely any big updates sent to the Micromax phones ever.

But, the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro are both flagship and the best phones from the company. At the least, these phones should have got the Android Marshmallow update, then we’d have thought about them getting the Android Nougat update. The phones are still stuck at Android Lollipop and getting Android Marshmallow is also at question. We earlier saw reports from people that the company is planning to send the Android 6.0 update but that didn’t happen.

So, you know the answer here. Will the Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro get Android Nougat update? If yes, when will that happen? Frankly, you should stop expecting that and stop being over-optimistic about it. Micromax is lazy about the updates and thus, you won’t see the Nougat update, even if it is for the flagship phones.
